Jean-Philippe Agnese

After graduating in 1997, I worked for several years in the event and corporate film sectors, as a producer and/or director. In parallel, I directed a few short films and was director of photography on a handful of others. In 2003, I joined BTL Productions, where I became one of the associate producers: a medium-length film, a few shorts and the development of features followed. As a screenwriter since my student years, I started writing my first feature film in 2005: a project that did not come to fruition, but which was finalist of several grants and allowed me to attract the attention of several producers (led by Philippe Carcassonne) and directors, who have since followed and accompanied my various personal works. Since 2010, I have initiated and developed several TV projects (notably for TelFrance, RDV Prod., Quad Tv, Kien Prod., BFC Prod.). Passionate about teaching and transmission, I then devoted myself to teaching, between 2005 and 2011, first as a lecturer at ESRA, then, above all, as one of the main teachers at ETTIC, a school of continuing education where I teach directing and writing fiction. The plurality of my professional background allows me to feed my work with a direct contact with "the reality of the field", to give a practical color to the theory. Currently, I am, among other things, the scriptwriter of a feature film in the process of changing production, and the author of two series in development. I have also written the adaptation of a handful of short films. Several documentaries are under discussion and I work as a script doctor with companies and aspiring screenwriters. I am also the author of a crime novel.
