Jessa is walking down the street, still angry from the
previous fight. She texts the same whatsapp message to a few
friends: "Dispo?" (subtitle: "Free to talk?"), and receives
the following answers:
- Two blue double ticks with no answer
- "Je couche Zoé déso" ("I'm putting Zoe to sleep sorry")
- No response
- "Je pars à un dîner. On s'appelle bientôt ?" (subtitle: "I'm
heading for a dinner, let"s chat soon")
Jessa then calls her mother.
JESSA
Maman?
MOM (O.S.)
Allô ma chérie. J'ai vraiment pas le
temps. Je te rappelle demain. [subtitle:
"Hi dear. I'm too busy, I'll call you
tomorrow"]
Jessa enters a bar. She sits alone and scrolls through her
instagram and sees all the same vain random photos of good
looking girls.
Follows a sequence of different shots of Jessa working alone,
eating alone, scrolling trough her news feed alone, on
different days. Last sequence: She is seated at a coffee shop
working. She looks at her newsfeed. Then looks at Leku's
number but doesn't click on Call. She scrolls through her
other contacts, looking sad. She writes on a Digital Nomads
facebook group: "Hi awesome travelers! I'm in Cape Town for a
few days - anyone in town?".
CUT TO:
INT. BAR - EVENING
A guy, CHAD, enters the coffee shop, meets and greets Jessa.
Their looks and make up show they are on a casual date. Chad
is the typical American guy.
CHAD
Hey. So you're a nomad? That's dope. How
many countries have you done? I'm at 34
but I'm pretty sure I'll nail 50 by the
next of next year.
